Finally! A senator with principles. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma seems to be the first senator in a long time to understand the problem of overspending in the federal government, and is very outspoken in calling for putting and end to pork-barrel spending. I like this guy

I stumbled across a great song today, happened to flip to it on the radio as I was returning to work after lunch. It's called "Russians" by Sting.

In Europe and America, there's a growing feeling of hysteria

While this is somewhat dated, written in the 1980's, the message rings as true today. Remember the families. Family is what will make or break this world. Prophets of God have warned that "the disintegration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets." (The Family: A Proclamation to the World)

Families cannot be allowed to fail.

The end of war

The end of war will happen when we love our families more than we hate our enemies. When someone truely loves their family, they would never endanger them by starting or encouraging a quarrel with their neighbors.

Yale Law School hosted a conference last week entitled, "The Constitution in 2020". the intended purpose was to figure out how the constitution should be re-written to support the mondern liberal agenda. Read the the article by John Hinderaker here.

John alludes to this in the article, but the scariest thing about this mindset, is that they don't care about the constitution, and are not interested in the will of the people or democratic processes. The direction this is going is dictatorship/communism. All a person has to do is read Marx and it becomes blindingly clear what the true objective of modern liberalism is: The destruction of freedom.

What Liberals Want is a chillingly accurate and insightful piece written about a recent meeting of some top liberal minds, and some of the comments made at that meeting. Read it in it's entirety. It is probably one of the clearest explanations of the current liberal movement.

Smoldering Constitution: Part 1

Anyone with their eyes open knows there is a disturbing trend in politics and in the social tides these days. This trend is the destruction of our God-given constitution. The ways in which this is happening are as numerous as the people working daily to destroy our great nation, or, those things that make it what it is.

Near the top of the list is the destruction of the family. Forces are at work to destroy this most sacred and basic unit of society, which has been the foundation of society since recorded time. Just a few ways this is happening are:

1. Attacking the institution of marriage on every front. From drive-thru wedding chapels and divorce courts, to television and movies portraying marriage as old-fashioned and inconvenient, to general disregard for the importance of marital fidelity.
2. Poisoning families with pornograpy addiction and alcoholism, destroying the peace and comfort in family relationships.
3. Advocation of sex without responsibility, mocking the tremendous power by which life is created and paving the way for ever decreasing respect for life and womanhood.
4. The homosexual agenda is one of contempt and disregard for everything the family represents, both for the individual and for society. Replacing responsibility for others and constructive relationships with selfish pleasure and total disregard for the rights and best interests of others.

Why is this related to the constitution? Because when the family fails, so too, does the nation. When that happens, there is nothing to stop those forces of raw evil from destroying that framework which was intended to serve and protect the rights of the people of this great country from tyranny and enslavement.
