I've decided to drop Haloscan for my comment service

Due to inappropriate text ads being displayed on the comment entry pages.

I can't see what you class as inappropriate so it must be something personal, or probably politically against your own vies.

Haloscan offers an excellent service, and I would recommend signing up for their premium service to get rid of all the ad's.

I thought they did a good job of vetting adverts.
I am totally against the treatment of root vegetables in todays society and I did once have an advert for fresh young carrots appear. I just ignored that advert and considered it a one off, it wasn't nothing to get into a stew about.

True, but I don't look at them all that often, and when I do check and see "lesbian misbehivin", it's not too thrilling. Also when ALL of the ads in rotation on a given day are to extremist liberal/leftist blogs, several of which with extremely offensive (crude, vulgar, sexist) titles. I just don't want that associated with mine. Besides, I don't have the volume of comments to really necessitate using Haloscan...if I get more readers and they start requesting trackback links (which is the only reason I went with Haloscan in the first place) then I'll consider, but for now it's just not worth paying for a service nobody really uses. Another reason for Haloscan was the RSS Feed for comments, which was nice because I didn't need to be at my laptop (with it's Outlook setup) to quickly check for comments.

Thank you for your feedback
